Euro-Flow summer school. Trento, Italy. 07-16 May, 2018

The first assembly of the entire project team including ESRs took place at the University of Trento, Italy, expertly organised by Guido Zolezzi.

The first week was an intensive course on environmental flows science led by Delft (Angeles Mendoza, Michael McClain) as an introduction to a distance learning module that all of the ESRs will be taking as part of their year 1 training. In addition to lectures, the ESRs were treated to a series of field trips to see various regulated and free flowing parts of the Noce and Adige rivers in northern Italy in the foothills of the Alps.

The second week saw the arrival of the project supervisors and some project partners. Lee Brown (Leeds) introduced the project aims, timescales and deliverables ahead of the first detailed meetings of the Euro-FLOW project management teams (Supervisory Board, Training Committee, Impact Committee and ESR forum).

ESRs also had the opportunity to present their projects and an overview of their week 1 activities to the whole group, as a first part of their training in dissemination skills.
