Paul’s work investigates the impacts of anthropogenic activities on hydrology and water quality. He has worked on the occurrence, fate and effects of a wide range of emerging and traditional pollutants including microplastics, human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, pesticides, nutrients, DOC and sediment. This work has been funded by a variety of organisations including the European Union, NERC, EPSRC, Defra, the Environment Agency, Natural England and the water industry. Paul routinely collaborates with a range of stakeholders and his role with water@leeds focusing on impact expands this work across many areas of expertise.
