Empowering Citizen Science Partnerships event
water@leeds and the Meanwood Valley Partnership were delighted to host the Empowering Citizen Science Partnerships event at the University of Leeds on June 11th.
The event brought together eight local groups involved in water quality monitoring across the Leeds area, alongside other environmental stakeholders.
With a lively mix of newer and more established citizen science groups, the day was a chance to share insights, tackle common challenges, and identify practical areas for collaboration – from setting up a shared results database to co-developing campaign materials. The energy in the room spoke to the growing momentum behind community-led action on our local waterways, and we’re excited to see where these conversations lead next!
This event was led by Dr Paul Hutchings water@leeds Associate Director for Impact, and Water WISER CDT PhD candidate Madison Wright, both based in the School of Civil Engineering.
