Title
The politics of competing water use

More than 3,700 large dams are planned or under construction, many in the Global South.

FutureDAMS is a GCRF funded inter-disciplinary research and capacity development partnership that unites academics, practitioners and policy makers to improve planning and governance of dams.

Dr Mdee's talk draws on her research which explores the political ecology of competing water use, with particular reference to irrigation in Sub-Saharan Africa.  It will also reflect on the challenges of competing water use in policy and governance frameworks for water resources, and how the new GCRF Water Security Hub will further explore these.

Lectures are free and open to all. For more information, please visit http://www.futuredams.org/
