Julia Martin-Ortega

Dr. Julia Martin-Ortega has an interdisciplinary background in environmental sciences and economics, with 10 years of research experience on the relationships between humans and water systems. Julia looks to integrate outputs of hydrological modelling and stakeholder knowledge into the economic analysis of water management. Her work, which has receive funds from the EU Commission, NERC, ESRC, the British Academic and Scottish Government Strategic Research Programmes amongst other, has shaped the agenda for further transdisciplinary research and practice on the development of economically sound and socially acceptable ways of water management. She is author of 37 ISI-indexed publications and ~50 other peer reviewed publications, including the first global monograph on Water Ecosystem Services published by Cambridge University Press.
